A definition of research: In the broadest sense of the word, the definition of research includes any gathering of data, information, opinions and facts for the advancement of knowledge.
There are two different types of research, Quantitative and Qualitative. Quantitative is when the research can be physically measured. It can be put into categories and can be measured in numerical form, suggesting that it is always statistical. Examples of this would be surveys, questionnaires and physical numbers. Qualitative research is not in numerical form and can be someones opinion, some examples of this would be surveys, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups etc.
