Questionnaire Results

According to the results that we got back from the audience, the most popular genre that was favourited were: SciFi and Comedy. But it was also commented that hybrids of horror, romance and action were preferred aswell.

For the second question most of the audience said that they do not like horror, while only a few did. On the other hand, most of the adults we asked said that Horror was there favourite, but it depend on the type of horror it was; for example they suggested that they were not that keen on teen horror movies.

For the third question, it was asked what the audience were most afraid of, the most frequent answer that was circled was "The Unknown" along with many others choosung zombies and ghosts. This suggests that it is not what traditionally used to scare people; for instance when Pyshco came out, every one was afraid of Norman Bates, but now that times have changed more people are afraid of what they cannot see rather than what they can. It was suggested that the films were you can see the killer usualy comes down to action or a thriller rather than horror.

The fourth question "What would you look for in a horror movie?" the popular answer was ths ound of screaming or music that builds up the tension; usually being slow to fast pace. The second most popualr answer was the angles of the camera. This could easily be adapted into our trailers, as it is a effective way of making something have power, from low angles or making a object look vulnerable from high angles.

Finally the last question was "What would make you want to watch a horror movie?" this is a typical question that should be asked in an film questionnaire, as it will help us establish how people prefer our film to be promoted. The most frequently circled answer was the trailer and word of mouth. This shows that the trailer is so important for a film to be successful as it allows the audience to have a glimpse and promote our film to the general public.
